Step into a transformative July with us—unearth the legacy of New Leadership Month, honor our outgoing president's service, and welcome new beginnings at Two Rivers Rotary Club.

As the calendar flips to July, we at Two Rivers Rotary Club, like our peers across the globe, usher in a period of transformation and renewal known as New Leadership Month. This tradition holds a special significance in the Rotary Club's history and continues to shape our present and future.

The Rotary year begins on July 1, a tradition rooted in our organization's early days. The first Rotary fiscal year began the day after the conclusion of our inaugural convention in 1910. Eventually, to facilitate better financial reporting and delegate allocation for the convention, June 30 was marked as the end of the fiscal year. This decision, made in 1913, has stood the test of time, making July the start of the new Rotary year.

New Leadership Month presents us with an opportunity to express our gratitude to those who have served in leadership roles while also welcoming new leaders into the fold. Our leaders exemplify the qualities that make our members extraordinary: integrity, expertise, and commitment to service.

As we say goodbye to the old fiscal year, we also express our heartfelt thanks to our outgoing president, Michael Ditmer. Under his leadership, we have seen our club grow and thrive, and his dedication to service will leave a lasting impact on our community.

Simultaneously, we are excited to welcome our new president, Dennis Swetlik. We have faith in his abilities to guide our club into another successful year, building on the accomplishments of his predecessors while bringing fresh ideas and perspectives.

Serving as a club or district officer or committee member is more than just a role—it's an opportunity to enrich your leadership skills by sharing experiences and ideas with other Rotarians throughout the region. As we transition into this new leadership year, we encourage our members to embrace these opportunities for service, learning, and growth.

Here's to another year of making a difference in our community and the world. Happy New Leadership Month!
