Today's Program: Two Rivers High School Shop Classes

Justin Casper and Jacob Haag, technology education teachers at Two Rivers High School, presented on the shop programs available at the high school. They highlighted the Raider Manufacturing program, which started in 2020 and has taken off, offering signage services to the community. The Raider Manufacturing program was just one of several education classes offered, including woods, metals, CAD, small engines and autos, home maintenance and residential construction, and a new offering called "Tech Ed for Beginners."

The school also has a successful formula racing program that started as a class and is now a club where students can race the vehicles they design and build. Every May, students from Two Rivers High School and other schools participate in races at Road America, reaching speeds of 45-50 mph.

Additionally, the school started the Skills USA program last year, offering students the opportunity to participate in another club and gain scholarships and credentials in areas such as welding. The school has received support from the local community and a school district, resulting in several successful grant applications. The school has received funding for equipment such as CNC machines, laser engraver, 3D printers, and a CAD lab with computers.

Club Events and Service Opportunities

The annual fundraising dinner will take place on Saturday, April 1st at Sepia Chapel. Members are asked to add up to 5 new names to the list and are expected to donate auction items/donations with a minimum of $50. Please consider inviting others to the event. This year, the organizers will approach area businesses for sponsorships, which may include free tickets to the dinner. Betty will be sending out further information next week. Raffle items are now being accepted. Colleen will send an email about auction items to members in the coming week.

Information about the World Affairs Seminar will be delivered to Two Rivers High School. The seminar will take place at Carroll College in Waukesha in June. Betty will send information about the need to sponsor two students this year, with a cost of $895 per student.

If you volunteered for Sunday Supper on February 5th, be prepared to work from 2-6pm at St. Peter the Fisherman hall.

Diane is writing an article for the next Two Rivers High School Raider Reporter newsletter. If you have an event you'd like to see included, please contact her.

  • Easter Bags Apr 9. Get list of students from TREP about 2 months in advance. Lori is chairing this year.
  • The Manitowoc Sunrise Rotary and Visit Manitowoc are partnering to host the Wisconsin Sand Sculpting Festival at Red Arrow Park Beach on July 14-16. Paul Roekle from Sunrise Rotary is offering opportunities to be a food vendor.
